Cheesy Italian Hot Dogs

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Villaggio® Toscana Extra Soft Sausage Buns
  • 6 all Beef premium Hot Dogs with natural casings
  • Olive Oil, for brushing
  • 3 medium Potatoes, cut into Small Cubes
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) Basil
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) Rosemary
  • 2 pkts of Provolone slices (180grms each)
  • 1/2 cup (125g) spicy brown Mustard

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or bring grill to medium heat
  2. Lightly oil grill or broil Hot Dogs for about 5-7 minutes until charred on all sides, put aside to keep warm
  3. Heat up oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add Potatoes, frying until browned on all sides for about 5-6 minutes
  4. Remove onto paper towel to absorb excess oil
  5. Add Onions, Pepper and Seasonings to skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until vegetables have softened
  6. Add Potatoes back in and season with Salt & Pepper to taste
  7. Spread mustard on each bun
  8. Layer with Provolone, Hot Dog and top with Potato mixture
  9. Add more mustard, if desired
