Indulgent Vol Au Vent

Ingredients

  • 4 Villaggio® Toscana™ Sausage Buns
  • 2 cups (500ml) Chicken Breast, in small cubes
  • 1 cup (250ml) Carrots, diced
  • 1 cup (250ml) Garden Peas
  • 1 Chicken Stock Cube
  • 1 cup (250ml) Béchamel Sauce
  • 4 Bacon slices, crisply cooked
  • 4 tbsp (60ml) Cooking Oil
  • 1 pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • 4 tbsp (60ml) Honey
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) with the rack in the middle position.
  2. In a hot pan, sauté the chicken cubes in a little oil for 5 minutes, while stirring.
  3. Add the carrots, garden peas, stock and continue to cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and add the béchamel sauce and Cayenne pepper.
  5. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat, arrange the open buns, garnish with the creamy chicken mixture, add the bacon, top with a dash of honey and oven-cook for 15 minutes.
