Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Villaggio Artesano® Original White Bread
  • 1 Leek, cleaned and chopped
  • 8 tbsp (60g) Unsalted Butter
  • White Pepper
  • 2 Pears, cored and thinly sliced
  • 4 slices of Smoked Gouda

Directions

  1. Over medium heat, pan fry the leeks in 2 tbsp (30g) of butter until softened and lightly brown
  2. Season with white pepper, to taste
  3. Layer 2 slices of bread with leeks, pear slices, and smoked gouda and top with the remaining 2 slices of bread
  4. Heat fry pan over medium heat and add in the remaining butter, then, cook sandwiches for 2-3 minutes and flip to continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the bread is toasty and the cheese is melty
