Perennial crowd favorite in a Sandwich
Ingredients
- 4 slices of Villaggio Artesano® Sourdough Bread
- 2 tbsp (30g) Unsalted Butter
- 1 clove of Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp (30g) all-purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup (125ml) Half-and-Half Cream
- 1 oz (28g) Goat Cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup (125g) Provolone Cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup (125g) Cheddar Cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp (5g) Red Pepper Flakes
- Flaky Sea Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup (125g) Jarred Artichoke Hearts, sliced
- 1 cup (250g) Baby Spinach, packed
Directions
- Melt 1 tbsp (15g) of Butter, in a small pan over medium heat, then add garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes
- Sprinkle and stir in flour and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, then, slowly stir in cream and continue stirring until smooth and incorporated, with no lumps
- Add in goat cheese and continue stirring until melted and smooth, with no lumps
- Repeat the process with provolone cheese and cheddar cheese
- Finish with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, salt and pepper to taste
- Add in artichoke hearts and baby spinach to incorporate
- Evenly divide and spoon over 2 slices of bread
- Top with the remaining slices
- Heat up the remaining 1 tbsp (15g) of butter, over medium-low heat and grill the sandwich for 2-3 minutes, then, turn it over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side
