This Tasty Tortilla Muffuletta is a quick-and-easy take on a classic New Orleans sandwich. Enjoy a savoury blend of meats, cheeses, olives and roasted red peppers folded and baked into a delicious Dempster’s® Original 10” Tortilla. For an extra kick, add slices of pickled hot peppers. Serves two.
This Tasty Tortilla Muffuletta is a quick-and-easy take on a classic New Orleans sandwich. Enjoy a savoury blend of meats, cheeses, olives and roasted red peppers folded and baked into a delicious Dempster’s® Original 10” Tortilla. For an extra kick, add slices of pickled hot peppers. Serves two.
Ingredients
- 2 Dempster’s® Original Large Tortillas
- 4 tsp (20 mL) olive tapenade
- 2 slices provolone cheese
- 4 slices Genoa salami
- 4 slices capicola
- 2 slices ham
- 2 slices Fontina cheese
- 1 jarred roasted red pepper, sliced
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
Directions
- Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay tortillas on a clean work surface; spread olive tapenade evenly over half of each tortilla.
- Layer a slice of provolone, 2 slices salami, 2 slices capicola, a slice of ham and a slice of Fontina over olive tapenade on each tortilla half; scatter roasted red peppers over the top.
- Fold the tortilla in half over the filling.
- Brush both sides of the tortilla with oil; place on the prepared pan.
- Bake in 400°F (200°C) oven for 10 minutes or until cheese starts to melt, and tortillas are lightly browned.
Tips: Add slices of pickled hot peppers for an extra kick.
