Toasted Western Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Villaggio® Italian Style Thick Slice 100% Whole Wheat Bread
  • 5 Eggs
  • 1/2 Onion, diced
  • 1/2 Green Pepper, diced
  • 6 – 8 slices Black Forest Ham
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 tbsp (30g) Butter
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Toast 4 slices of bread until golden and firm
  2. In a small bowl, beat the 5 Eggs together and season lightly with Salt & Pepper, to taste and set aside
  3. In a small non-stick frypan, over medium-low heat, melt Butter and sauté Onions and Pepper for about 3-5 minutes, until softened
  4. Pour in the beaten egg, turn the heat up to medium-high and cook, stirring constantly with a heat-resistant spatula, for about 30 seconds, until just cooked, then, turn off the heat and smooth over the top of the omelette, with the spatula, so that is evenly covers the inside of the pan
  5. Layer 2 slices of bread with Cheddar Cheese
  6. Evenly divide and spoon on the scrambled Eggs, then, add on the other slice of Cheddar Cheese, Ham and the remaining 2 slices of bread
  7. Serve while hot and delicious!
